With local infrastructure booming, Greater Springfield is fast becoming the easiest and most attractive business address in South East Queensland.
Springfield Land Corporation's Executive General Manager for Infrastructure and Planning, Russell Luhrs, said the long list of infrastructure projects in Queensland's Western Corridor was a demonstration of state and local government's commitment to growing business opportunities in the area.
"By far the biggest project to be completed this year will be the extension of the Centenary Highway from Springfield to Yamanto. Once opened, this major arterial will carry 20,000 vehicles per day and will dramatically improve access to Greater Springfield.
"Other projects servicing Greater Springfield already underway include the duplication of Augusta Parkway, an upgrade of Redbank Plains Road, major improvement of the Ipswich Motorway and the Darra to Springfield Transport Corridor Project," Mr Luhrs said.
The Darra to Springfield Transport Corridor Project is a two-stage road and rail undertaking that will see the Centenary Highway increase from two to four lanes between Richlands and Springfield and the railway line extended from Darra to Springfield by 2015.
"Many businesses are recognising the benefits of relocating to Greater Springfield and global leaders such as NEC have moved to Springfield to take advantage of the massive growth.
"Thanks to South East Queensland's continued strong growth, Brisbane CBD will be unable to cater for sustained increases by itself. With billions of dollars being invested in the development of the Western Corridor each year, Greater Springfield is the perfect new CBD address for business.
"With improved access to the Greater Springfield CBD via road and rail, the number of businesses choosing to relocate to the Western Corridor will continue to increase," Mr Luhrs said.
Official population forecasts from the Department of Infrastructure and Planning see the Western Corridor as the fastest growing region in Queensland, with the Ipswich population set to grow up to 378% by the year 2031. Brisbane is set to increase by a mere 23% during the same period.
With a growing population comes increased traffic, and key business precincts have been planned in Greater Springfield to enable businesses to take advantage of large passing traffic volumes.
Springfield Technology Park - Greater Springfield's newest business district - fronts onto the Centenary Highway and Augusta Parkway and has a passing traffic count equal to a quarter of Ipswich Motorway's daily traffic. It is expected that this will increase by 50% over the next five years.
When you combine increased traffic counts with the billions of dollars being invested in infrastructure, the rapidly growing population and world-class technology, Greater Springfield presents as an opportunity for your business to benefit and be a part of Australia's most exciting new city.
