The Queensland government has recently committed more than $1 billion in infrastructure that will improve connectivity to Greater Springfield™ and the Ipswich region to accommodate major population growth in coming years.

Suncorp has formed a joint venture partnership with Springfield Land Corp to develop the $212m Polaris Data Centre.  It is Queensland’s first Tier3+ data centre and the most significant technological developments in the history of Greater Springfield.  Suncorp will utilise the advanced facilities primarily for banking operations, with the Springfield Dark Fibre Network connecting the data centre to existing facilities in the Brisbane CBD.

The USQ is a dynamic, young University that offers award programs at undergraduate and postgraduate level by on-campus, off-campus or online study. As at May 2004, the University has UNIVERSITY OF SOUTHERN QUEENSLAND (USQ) approximately 26,000 enrolments, including over 7,400 international students. USQ and the Springfield Land Corporation signed an historic agreement in 2004 that will see the creation of a USQ Greater Springfield™ campus open in 2006 with approximately 500 students.
