Brookwater retains number one ranking in Queensland

Brookwater Golf Club has retained its position as Queensland’s number one golf course, with the release of Australia’s 50 Best Courses by Golf Australia
magazine.
Since opening in 2003, Brookwater has drawn acclaim
for it stunning Greg Norman-designed layout.
Judges once again rewarded the course in 2008 with
its ranking as Queensland’s
number one course.
Brookwater General Manager Mark
Holland said it was an honour to retain the number one spot.
“We are very proud to have been named Queensland’s number one course by Golf Australia again in 2008,” Mr
Holland said.
“Not only is credit due to golf course designer Greg
Norman for this ranking, but also to the agronomy staff at Brookwater who
ensure golfers experience superior playing surfaces everyday.
“As Brookwater makes the transition from public
access to private course, we are committed to the continual delivering of the
finest golfing experience in Queensland,”
he said.
Arguably one of the most reputable golf course
rankings in the country, the biennial release of Golf Australia’s 50 Best Courses, is
judged by 13 golf course architects, designers, journalists and industry heavy
weights.
The Golf Australia rankings, which take into account
all courses within Australia, ranked Brookwater as the 21st best
course in the country.
Judging criteria for the Golf Australia rankings
included course design, conditioning, playability and the ‘wow’ factor.
Brookwater Golf Club is part of the $250 million
Brookwater residential development by Springfield Land Corporation.
The club is managed by Troon Golf, the recognised
leader in upscale golf course management and development around the world.The company currently manages 190 golf
courses in 29 countries including the USA,
Scotland, Japan, Mexico
and the Bahamas.
