At the recent Greater Springfield Community Festival, local teen and winner of the Women’s Junior Wimbledon title, Ashleigh Barty was officially honoured with having the tennis courts at Spring Lake Park named after her.

After beating Russian opponent Irina Khromacheva in the final, Ashleigh became the world's number four junior women's player. A student of Woodcrest State High School, Ashleigh trains at the Richlands Tennis Centre but has enjoyed a few hits on the local courts at Springfield Lakes over the years.

Congratulations Ashleigh, your community is very proud of you and keen to watch your progress in the coming years.
