Mirvac has entered into an agreement which will see Woolworths and its US joint venture partner Lowe's, opening one of their first new Home Improvement stores at Orion Springfield.

Construction will commence on the site within a couple of months, with the store scheduled to open for business in the latter half of 2011.

The 12,500sqm store will be built on the Orion Town Centre site at Springfield Central. It will feature both retail and trade areas as well as a garden centre and will offer a totally unique, family oriented shopping experience.

The new Home Improvement store will join stable mates Woolworth's, Big W and Dick Smith at Orion Springfield, and represents the first major new addition to the centre since ALDI opened in December 2009, and stage 1 opened in March 2007.

Mirvac will soon commence construction on the remainder of the road infrastructure around the centre, which will service the rapidly growing southern corridor traffic, and facilitate access into the new parklands adjacent to the centre.
