"An important issue when fitting out the office was our impact on the environment, the result is recycled materials and standard construction material modules to minimise wastage"

The tenth floor fit-out of Springfield Tower for Springfield Land Corporation has set a new benchmark in environmentally conscious, contemporary office design.

Springfield Land Corporation Chairman Maha Sinnathamby said the company wanted to achieve a modern, sophisticated look while at the same time upholding its green credentials.

"What visitors to our head office will immediately see is an eye-catching, light, and inviting space featuring natural stone and timber, expressed structural steel and glass and modern, yet classic furniture and fabrics," Mr Sinnathamby said.

"What they will feel however, is a sense of confidence, vibrancy and a light open ambience that reflects a focus on quality and the environment, encompassing the essence of Springfield Land Corporation.

"An important issue when fitting out the office was our impact on the environment, which has resulted in the use of recycled materials and standard construction material modules to minimise wastage as well as artificial lighting controlled by motion detectors to enhance energy efficiency."

Springfield Tower is registered for 4.5 NABERS and has achieved a 4 Star Green Rating - Office Design v2 Rating by the Green Building Council of Australia.

Ceccato Hall Associate and Architect Peter Wolff said Springfield Land Corporation had a strong idea of what they wanted to achieve with the fit-out.

"The deceptively simple design solution is therefore an integrated response to budget and program requirements; sustainability and environmental issues; and a desire to give physical expression to client organisation, goals and aspirations," Mr Wolff said.

"A 30 metre long commissioned art wall is central to the design, giving expression to client identity, and forming a spine separating public zones from private. This design element guides guests from arrival at reception, past flexible meeting and gathering areas, through to the formal Board Room. Transparent open spaces either side of this spine place visual emphasis on panoramic views over the Springfield development beyond.

"The development of colours and graphic elements and for the project was the result of close collaboration between the client, architect, marketing team and graphic designer; further enriching the completed environment."

Mr Sinnathamby said Ceccato Hall and Associates Architects had delivered a solution that exceeded their expectations and was delivered within budget and agreed timeframes.

"We were really happy with the finished product and are pleased our staff have a real sense of pride and achievement when they come into work each morning," he said.

Springfield Tower is a landmark office development in Queensland's thriving Western Corridor. Situated in the heart of Parkside, in Greater Springfield's growing CBD and within walking distance or a moment's drive to Education City and Orion Shopping Centre, Springfield Tower enjoys prime positioning in Australia's largest CBD.

Greater Springfield is Australia's most exciting new city.  Spread across 2,860 hectares, the city has been cleverly planned to include all the facilities required to be a fully independent city - a place where people can live, work, learn and play.

The fit out design was Shortlisted for Dulux Colour Awards 2009 and Interior Design Awards 2009.
