Greater Springfield’s 12 week Healthy Body, Healthy Mind Challenge has proved so successful it will become a twice a year event.
The challenge has attracted 350 new fitness advocates led by Springfield City Group Director Naren Sinnathamby, who has been enjoying both the health benefits and the group support.
“This program has been life changing in a positive way for so many people and Springfield City Group was happy to have created one of the most successful health initiatives in the region,” Mr Sinnathamby said.
“It has been so successful that we will be commencing a bigger and better round two of the challenge in May.”
The Healthy Body, Healthy Mind Challenge started in January to encourage the community to engage in regular exercise and healthy eating.
Six personal trainers led 35 training sessions a week at Robelle Domain and Springfield businesses got behind the drive by offering a $4000 prize for the person who lost the greatest percentage of body fat.
The official results will be known at the final weigh in ceremony on April 13.
