Due to high growth and popular demand, the Greater Springfield Chamber of Commerce is excited to announce it will hold its inaugural Marque Business Awards in August as a nod to successful businesses in the region.

The awards are dealt into six categories, namely Professional Services, Trade Services, Member’s Choice, Best Customer Service, Outstanding Small Business, Business Person of the Year and Business of the Year.

The creation of the awards also lends itself to the vision of Greater Springfield to provide local jobs to one in three residents by 2030.

Chamber president Neil Coupland said the event was a natural progression of the group’s role in fostering and delivering better business outcomes to match the city’s growth.

“We decided to hold the awards because we were asked by several members and we felt local businesses deserved to be highlighted and showcased for the amazing things they are doing here,” Mr Coupland said.

“Growth in this area has been significant over the last couple of years and shows the region is becoming a business hub.

“We are the only local Chamber that holds twelve free member networking events per year and our aim for the next 12 months is to put on approximately 24 events for the year, with a range of Business After Hours, breakfasts, dinners and educational some pieces.

“As Greater Springfield continues to grow, the Chamber is here to support and facilitate the continued growth of our business community while advocating a spirit of collaboration amongst all members and the community at large.”

The black-tie event will be held at the Brookwater Golf and Country Club and will feature live music from the Redtie Band with Chang and Bec, a three-course dinner and drinks.

Winners to be announced on the night and presented with a trophy and Greater Springfield book signed by Springfield City Group chairman Maha Sinnathamby and deputy chairman Bob Sharpless.
