Greg Norman reflects on Brookwater 10 years on

As Brookwater celebrates its tenth anniversary this month, Greg Norman is savouring the success of his award-winning golf course, now considered one of Australia’s best.

The Brookwater golf course was designed by twotime major winner Greg Norman, whose award-winning courses are famed for using the natural contours of the harsh landscape while taking on a strategic design.

“It’s been more than ten years since I sat down to design Brookwater, which is still one of my favourite creations,” Greg Norman said. While at the time Norman was confident his creation would win golfers over, he had no idea the course would take off as much as it has. Fast forward ten years and Norman is relishing in the success of the award-winning course.

“At the time I had no doubt that Brookwater would be an invaluable addition to quality golf courses in south-east Queensland,” Greg Norman said.

“Today, the course has evolved into exactly what we had hoped – and more,” he said. “Brookwater has everything to offer the everyday golfer, and has proven to be one Australia’s best courses,” Norman said.

Norman’s passion for golf is well-known, with his energy and drive for playing transferred completely into what is now the Brookwater Golf Course. The course is strategic in design, featuring a challenging terrain encompassing two nine-hole loops with an overall distance of 6,505 metres.

“The course was designed around the natural contours of Brookwater’s dynamic landscape. It’s almost as if the course was already there!”

“Brookwater’s pristine greens and fairways cut through a stunning backdrop of natural Australian bushland, topping off the perfect golf experience,” he said.

Brookwater was the first tournament-standard course constructed in the Brisbane area since 1970.“We absolutely stepped up to the challenge with
Brookwater,” Greg Norman said.

“Not only did we create a centrepiece for the Brookwater community, but we created a destination right here in Queensland for those passionate about
premium golf,” he said.

The creativity, professionalism and energy behindthe design and build of the course has gone on to inspire the industry, with the Brookwater Golf Course
consistently topping ‘best of’ lists Australia wide.

Earlier this year, Brookwater Golf Course again landed Queensland’s top spot in Golf Australia’s exclusive ranking of Australia’s top 100 public access
golf courses, securing the number 10 position in the biannual national listing. The placement marks the fifth consecutive year that Brookwater has taken out the title.

Brookwater deputy managing director Raynuha Sinnathamby said Brookwater’s world-class golf course was the centrepiece of the premier golfing community, offering residents an exclusive golfing lifestyle that is simply unrivalled.

“Brookwater is a world-class golf residentialcommunity, with the spectacular Greg Norman designed golf course proving not only to be the centrepiece for our community, but a destination for those passionate about premium golf,” Ms Sinnathamby said.
