The Brookwater Golf and Country Club will hold its first-ever Haute Cuisine French Dining Experience later this  month and will feature an array of some of France’s most popular dishes.

The Club’s executive head chef Shaun Hunt is classically trained in French cuisine and said he looked forward to showcasing some of his favourite meals.

“As part of my English hotel school apprenticeship, I was sent to a work placement in a small port in Brittany called Saint Malo and I fell in love with French food from that region,” Mr Hunt said. “I remember going to the docks every morning and getting the fresh fish from the boats and serving them for lunch and dinner, it was amazing. “I love making some of the classic dishes like bouillabaisse, coq au vin, beef bourguignon and duck confit.

“After being in the industry for 28 years I have seen trends come and go, but it always comes back to cooking food the right way, meaning with lots and lots of flavour.

“The classic flavour combinations also use good quality ingredients which are sourced locally to each region, no matter where you are in the world.”

Brookwater Golf and Country Club business development executive Kelly Stinson said the club decided to hold the event as a value add for people seeking a more upmarket dining experience.
“In the past we have offered similar events which have been well received as a lot of people enjoy the fine dining experience,” Ms Stinson said.

“That type of event can be hard to find in this area, so it’s always very popular.”
The six-course menu will come paired with wines as an optional extra and is limited to 120 guests.

The Haute Cuisine French Dining Experience will be held on Saturday, June 29 at the Brookwater Golf and Country Club, with tickets starting at $100 per person.
